Bandung, October 13 — The Faculty of Sport and Health Education (FPOK), Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), held a Guidance and Socialization Program (Bimbingan Karier dan Sosialisasi / Bimkarsos) for graduating students as part of the university’s effort to prepare them for professional and academic advancement after graduation.
The event was designed to enhance alumni capacity from various perspectives — career development, postgraduate education, and contributions to society — in line with UPI’s vision to produce graduates who are professional, innovative, and globally competitive.
One of the inspiring speakers was Muhamad Wilman Nugraha, an alumnus of the Sports Coaching Education Program (Kepelatihan Olahraga), Class of 2014, who is currently pursuing his Master’s degree at Beijing Sport University, China. He shared his experiences studying abroad and emphasized the importance of discipline, perseverance, and continuous learning in building an international career in sport science.
“UPI has given me the foundation to grow both academically and personally. My journey to Beijing Sport University started with the confidence and curiosity nurtured here,” said Wilman.
Another highlight of the session was the presence of Mr. Salman, M.Pd., a lecturer from the Physical Education Program (PJKR) who is also an international hockey referee and an accomplished alumnus of UPI. He shared his perspective on maintaining professionalism and integrity in both academic and sporting careers.
“Being an alumnus and educator at UPI is a privilege. Our alumni are ambassadors of integrity and excellence wherever they go,” he remarked.
Dean of FPOK UPI, Prof. Dr. Komarudin, M.Pd., expressed appreciation for the speakers and the graduating students.
“This session is not only about preparing for graduation but also about envisioning the role of our alumni as changemakers in education, sport, and health,” he said.
The program aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly:
- SDG 4: Quality Education — enhancing graduate readiness and lifelong learning;
- SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth — promoting employability and entrepreneurship in the sports sector;
- SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals — fostering academic and professional collaboration at national and international levels.
Through initiatives like Bimkarsos, FPOK UPI reaffirms its commitment to nurturing graduates who are not only skilled and ethical but also ready to lead in global arenas of sport, health, and education.
